A Site Tour

A short journey around the site to get a feel for what is here and what it is for.

Join and Log in

Join means "please make me a member folder". Log in means "please give me permission to use my member folder". It is no more complicated than that.

Well, I guess it is just a little more complicated than that.  Joining and logging in gives you several priviledges that casual visitors do not have. Why? Mainly because until you log in and give a password, we not only can't tell who you are, we can't even tell if you are a person rather than a "bot" (automated browsing program).

As a member you get your very own folder ready to fill with contributions such as articles, blogs, and news items. When you log in you can directly search for members, participate in discussions and post comments.   Also, logging in gets rid of that annoying log in box in the right column ;)

Before we leave the log in box, though, let's take a brief look at the "related" box just below.  This box calls your attention to content that is related to the one you are reading.  These links are in two sections: "local" links on this site, and "external" links to other sites.
