Discussion Rules

Purpose

The Discussion Forums provide a place where members of Astrocartography Net may discuss the site, astrological topics, and individual charts.  Any other use is prohibited.

Inappropriate Posts

Discussions are monitored and posts may be blocked, deleted, or moved without notice in order to facilitate the purposes of the site.  In particular, posts which are offensive, violate rules, defamatory, fraudulent, or illegal will be removed from the site and repeated violators will be blocked.

It is prohibited to use discussion forums for advertising services or products, whether free or paid.  Also, it is bad place for announcements of any sort...  better to use the "News Items" part of the site.

Notification of Violations

Members should notify the site management through the feedback button of violations of these rules.  Be sure to include the nature of the violation and the exact location.  It is also permissable for members to communicate privately with violators who don't seem to understand the rules.  Remember, however, that sending private messages  reveals your own email address.

Privacy

Birth data and planetary configurations of specific individuals is considered private information for everyone except public figures whose birth information has been published.  Posting of this and any other personal information of others without their permission is prohibited.  Likewise, publication of personal communications from others is prohibited.  This includes both letters and emails.

Credits

It is acceptable to  quote from books and other publications as long as the source of the quote is documented with enough detail to find the original source.  However, it is not allowed to use other's words as your own or to quote without a specific source.

Names

As in other sections of Astrocartography Net, real names of authors must be available on your author page and your login name should not be deceptively similar to another member (unless it is your real name!).  Due to our desire to avoid using anonymity to protect against taking responsibility for posts, it is not a good idea to discuss personal problems or issues that you do not want revealed publically.
