Potent Places
Up to General Questions and Experiences
I was attracted to two places (possible past life connections) so I looked at the astrocartography maps.
In Place J, I have Mars MC, Chiron MC and Sun MC/Uranus DC crossing.
In Place D, I also have Mars MC, Chiron MC and Sun MC/Uranus DC crossing, plus Mars DC/Jupiter crossing.
In my birth chart Mars and Chiron are closely conjunct in the 2nd House in Sagittarius (or in Scorpio, if you use sidereal).
When I relocate my chart Mars and Chiron are in the 9th House in Place J and in the 9th and 10th Houses in Place D.
I assume these are potent places for me since I was already attracted to them before I knew the astrocartography results, and Mars is a warrior and the traditional ruler for Scorpio, while Chiron is a wounded healer personified by Sagittarius. I don't know how to interpret the crossings. There seems to be thematic interconnections.
Any insights?
Dear Jim,
You sound as if you may even now have the chart of a swashbuckler, attracted to spots where you may joust or leap or essay fantastic feats of derring-do! But kid, it's not possible to comment on a piece of a chart - we Astro*Carto*Graphy Interpreters gots to see the whole shebang - all the aspects to that Mars, and the aspects in your natal chart to ALL your planets. Asking about one little piece is kind of like getting a medical exam through a small hole in the sheet where the doctor puts her hand - and having your Astro*Carto*Graphy map and lat lines and Cyclo maps done is like an MRI - you NEED the natal chart IN FULL, before you can begin to work it out.
Past life speculation can be great fun - and it is just that: speculative. Try this: Start with this life, and work back. Photo books, films and websites will give you a deeper taste of these locations - see if you are still fascinated, for the planets you cite usually find the relocated person ending up with feelings of revulsion. Reading up is cheaper and safer than going to one of these spots and getting a punch on the nose, an experiment few would choose. Mars, Uranua and even Chiron lines tend to generate change and excitement. More often than not, it's just looking for trouble. Speculating about one's past lives may bring up wonderful insights into the life one is leading now. Whether it really happened or not, often a past life experience can be a useful metaphor for feelings that are happening now. What brave acts of chivalry might you be doing now, if all impediments were removed? Would you be Robin Hood, gathering food for the homeless? An Internet activist? What do you long to do?
