How Important Are Crossings?

Posted by Jack Devereaux at April 15. 2009

Hi All,

I've found some relocation candidates which have no unfavorable astrocartography lines but some pesky-looking crossings.  I've read elsewhere that crossings are only a minor consideration but I definitely feel their effects in my current location.  What do you think, should I give up the idea of moving to an otherwise favorably indicated place because the crossings look bad?

Dear Jack,

Probably. Those crossings are stronger than people first imagine. It's all about vibe. They're survivable,  but it does depend on what planet combos are involved. You are sure to feel them. I have seen many clients do their own relocating map work and then have to move again due to awful latitude crossings.

If it's any comfort, the majority of human beings do not have any  usable giggly, magical latitude crossings they can use...consider yourself lucky if you have one or two latitudes that you can visit on a holiday break. Some people have four or five, but it's rare.

One optimum strategy is to find  latitude spans that are clear of any crossings.  Another is to accept that the crossing will have an unrelenting effect--- and use the high road in dealing with them. Always depressed? Read Russian novels. Study maths and think the deep thoughts. It worked for Einstein. Always angry? Join Amnesty International or PETA and work for human or animal or lobster rights.  Obsessed with bad, bad women? There may be a sexy blues songwriting career in your future... x DK-S

Hi Jack,

The crossing are very important when examining the planetary influences at a location.

What I've found is that crossings that are exact, or only have a few minutes orb, are very powerful influences, and have the same strength as the planetary lines. Similar to orbs for aspects. The closer the orb, the more powerful the aspect.

Like Debbie mentioned, it's also possible to find a range of latitude where there are no crossings, especially the nearer to the equator you look. At other latitudes you'll find more than one crossing, and they all all be considered.

It really depends on the orb of the crossing, and the planets involved, when synthesising the planetary influences at a location.

Wow!  I had no idea just how strong the crossings are, relative to other considerations.  I'd seen statements that they are second to acg lines but nothing in terms of actual impact.

LOL!!!  Debbi, you totally nailed me with the "always angry" and "obsessed with bad, bad women" comments.  You must be psychic!  But "always depressed"?  Nah, my Gem Asc keeps my mind wandering far too much to ever focus on any one problem very long.  haha

Anyway, I know I've definitely felt the crossings in places I've been thus far.

David, I don't think I have any crossings that are exact.  Wouldn't that be the same as a planet at zenith?   All my relocation candidates seem to be seem to be thousand of kilometers from the places where their corresponding crossings are exact.  Unfortunately, the acg map(s) I've been using doesn't provide orbs with regard to the crossings.

Bottom-line is, there just really seem to be very few places among my best astrological places which also have mostly good or acceptable crossings.  Are the crossings so important as to suggest that I should choose a place which perhaps has less strongly indicated acg lines in order to accommodate better or relatively benign crossings?

Dear Jack,

Aha! You have discovered a  deep  cosmic secret. It's nearly always best to live between the lines on the map - not on them.  This stuff is an art - and it takes years to ace it. Look for the longitude lines on your map first. Second, check out the latitude lines - unless your own chart indicates something different, they are slightly less important - unless they are a truly ghastly combo. Everybody's chart is different. Third,  check out the Cyclo lines, or you'll be living in a Doctor John song: "Right place, wrong time'.   Yikes! DK-S
